An infrared barrier is made up of two parts: the transmitter and the receiver. An infrared ray is emitted between the transmitter and the receiver and makes a beam. When this beam is cut, the cell sends a signal to a system (automatic gate motor, alarm system, chimes, automatic lighting, etc.). Rain, fog or bad weather hinder the propagation of the infrared rays and can reduce the maximum distance between transmitter and receiver by as much as half. For alarm use, it is recommended to double the beams which means doubling the number of infrared cells.
This waterproof device, made up of a receiver and a transmitter is designed for exterior use with its PVC case. As it is only 60mm thick, it can be surface mounted. Maximum distance between transmitter and receiver: 10m (recommended distance: from 7 to 10m). Output on NO/NC 1A/24Vdc or 500mA 120Vac dry contact. Consumption: 40/80mA
